Iron man movie

The first big blockbuster of 2008, "Iron Man" is flat-out fun. One of the biggest surprises for many people is that this fun does not come from the action scenes (they're fine, by the way). What really amazes in "Iron Man" is a tour de force from Robert Downey Jr. (they could've named it Downey Junior- The Movie) and a solid script, that efficiently introduces us to the Iron Man history and proves to be a fascinating entry in a possible new franchise.

The movie tells the story of Tony Stark, an inventor and a playboy that is captured by terrorists and forced to create WMDs. While on captivity, he creates a powerful armor and manages to escape. Returning to America, he begins a new life as superhero Iron Man.

Another interesting aspect of "Iron Man" is that it is the first comic book based movie to openly discuss the 9/11 trauma. After all, we start off with terrorists as the bad guys. Its script has a strong political aspect to it, and it's one of the things that manage to keep the audience's attention. It's still an action flick, but that doesn't mean it can't have some content. The characters are good, but they ultimately are overshadowed by Downey Jr.'s performance. Hilarious and heroic, his Tony Stark is the ultimate Marvel action hero. Tough luck, Spiderman.

"Iron Man" is an action blockbuster for a mature audience. There will be more adults interested in the story than teenagers. After all, it is a political adventure. The movie hits and misses, but it still adds up for solid entertainment and lots of popcorn fun...........................

koi mil gaya

"Koi ... Mil Gaya" goes something like this: when a scientist makes first contact with aliens through a sequence of sounds sent into space (yes, just like in "Close Encounters"), he is ridiculed by the scientific establishment and dies in a subsequent accident. His son is born mentally disabled, much to the pain of his quietly suffering mother (played with gravitas by Rekha). Hindi heartthrob Hrithik Roshan plays the part of the stunted Rohit to the hilt, limping and stumbling and mumbling on his scooter (not BMX bike) with his gang of little rascal friends.

In the course of the next 180 or so minutes, Rohit discovers his father's computer, falls in love with sweet Nisha (Preity Zinta), and challenges the bully Raj (Rajat Bedi) to a game of hoops. He also meets a friendly blue alien that goes by the name of Jadu. Jadu, who has magic powers and glows when he's excited, was left behind when his crew of botanist space travelers abandoned him. Sound familiar? Let's just say, if my name was Stephen Spielberg, I might consider a lawsuit.

Bollywood filmmakers often have to defend themselves against charges of plagiarism, acknowledging that there's nothing new under the sun while gleefully ripping off and riffing on classic American movies. "Koi...Mil Gaya" is like an absurd dream you might have after watching a double bill of "E.T." and "The Sound of Music" after eating a heavy curry dinner. With its mix of comedy, romance, sci-fi, musical, action, and melodrama, "Koi ... Mil Gaya" is bright, loud, relentless fun. Of course it's hokey and derivative, but it steals from the originals with such panache that you can't help but love it.

Krrish

Rakesh Roshan was planning to make Krrish 2, a sequel of Krrish, but it seems that the film is kept aside for a while as no good script is coming in front. Also actor Hrithik Roshan is hesitating to work with director Rakyesh Om Prakash Mehra after his recent disaster Delhi-6. Mehra was supposed to direct Krrish 2.

“The Roshans have been working on several script ideas for Krrish 2 but nothing could be finalised. They could not zero in on any one script and whatever was remotely finalised, was not approved by either Rakesh or Hrithik. The idea has now taken a back seat as Rakyesh Mehra, who was finalised to direct the sequel, delivered a turkey in Delhi-6. Hrithik was in two minds about working with Mehra and Rakesh Roshan had made it clear that he does not want to direct Krrish 2. They have altogether dropped the plans to make the sequel. Currently, Rakesh Roshan is looking for a fresh subject with a global appeal as he wants Hrithik to be an international star,” said the source.

When asked to Rakesh Roshan, he said, “Right now, I am not thinking of anything till Kites releases. Only after that will I decide on what to make next.”
